In a recent conversation with a group of young people of St. Margaret's, one of the youths mentioned that one of the reasons why it would seem that some young people showed a lack of discipline and disinterestedness during the time of worship as has been noticed from time to time, stems from a lack of proper spirituality on the part of many youths. It would seem that apart from attending church, few persons really take the time or make the effort to truly understand the faith. The speaker mentioned that before she started to read religious literature and took time to seek ways of having her own spirituality deepened, the worship at church, especially the Eucharist, meant little to her. But by joining with other youths under the guidance of a group leader who was able to explain the Faith and by studying the meaning of and the place of importance of this blessed sacrament given to the Church by our Lord Jesus Christ, her spirituality has improved; she now better understands and appreciates this wonderful sacrament. The Rector hopes that this experience will be shared.

God our Father, we pray for our young people growing up in an unstable and confusing world. Show them that your ways give more meaning to life than the ways of the world, and that following you is better than chasing after selfish goals. Help them to take failure not as a measure of their worth, but as a chance for a new start. Give them strength to hold their faith in you, and to keep alive their joy in your creation, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
