In the last issue of St. Margaret's News, it was lamented that the church building had recently been burgled and that repairs were need to the windows to prevent similar attempts. It was also stated that the external church walls needed to be cleaned after decades of mildew had accumulated.

From October of 1998, the external walls were finally cleaned and four windows repaired, restoring St. Margaret's to some semblance of its old self. Two of the three church bells are also functioning again.

Yet, there is more to be done. There are still some windows to be repaired, the slated roof and the belfry to be attended to.

However, God has been good to us and we thank him for that. We hope that by the start of the new milennium, we will have raised enough funds to complete our task.

.......and St. Jerome

St. Jerome also underwent major repairs in the latter half of 1998. The floor was changed and repairs were carried out on the walls, windows and doors. The building was expanded

School was disrupted temporarily but things are now back to normal. However, Sunday Eucharist has not yet been reinstated in the renovated building.
